Today was all about relaxing and taking some time to just enjoy the ocean. I started out surfing at sunrise. A friend I met from the night before let me use his long board. There was a decent swell in Kihei so I went to the beach across the street from the condo I’m staying in. Third day in Maui I went out and did some exploring on my own. First place I went was a town called Paia on the north side of the island. Town feels like older Maui, the buildings and stores look a older and a bit more run down from what I have seen in Kihei where I have been staying. I feel it’s age gives it charm though. Day 2 in Maui was amazing.  Started my day with walking down the beach to a cafe where I had an amazing breakfast. I ate outside where I found out my company would be birds and chickens. All very friendly but turned out they just wanted me for my food. Other than the beggars at my feet the breakfast was amazing. Something about drinking fresh squeezed orange juice sitting out next to the ocean that just makes you feel alive.  Across the street from the cafe is a beautiful park along the ocean. Day one of my trip to Hawaii was for the most part all travel and getting situated. First leg of flying was from Minneapolis to Seattle on Alask Airlines and then on from Seattle to Maui on Hawaiian Airlines. Both airlines truly impressed me. I have been getting used to flying budget airlines that even the smallest thing would have impressed me. Both airlines had amazing customer service, larger seats and more leg room, meals I didn’t have to pay for, power for my devices and just overall felt like I used to before airlines decided to go cheap.  The...
